Curling is awesome. Seattle has the only curling rink in the western United States and I went last night to try it out. It was really fun. Cold. I'll have to bring gloves next time. For those of you who don't know, curling is like shuffle board on ice.

Um... I'm thinking about joining a league.

I don't know how many of you have read the Seamus Heaney translation of Beowulf, but the introduction to that translation has a really interesting discussion of his decision to translate the Old English word "Hwatt!" which begins the poem as "So." Since hwatt basically means "Hey, listen, I'm about to tell a story," and nobody actually uses the word "Lo," anymore, he translated it as "So," which is basically how we, today, introduce the telling of a story.

Which is all a long winded explination of why this entry, like most of my entries, I've noticed, begins with "so."

So, there's some stuff that I thought I'd like to share with people. Kinda random observations and stuff. But whatever. The first thing involves me being a horrible person. I dated this girl for a short time. It was a very weird relationship, she was kinda crazy. Last time (before just a few days ago) that I saw her she told me that she was getting married to some guy from back home who she never really dated but last time she was home from college, they ran into each other, got to talking and a few hours later got engaged. Bet that was a shock to her parents. Anyway, saw her in Trader Joe's the other day and well... I hope she was pregnant. With, like, triplets or something. Because otherwise she just looked aweful.

I've started playing this game called Eve Online. It's a space commerce and fighting game, kinda like Freelancer, only a million times more involved. It takes place in a galaxy of thousands, if not tens of thousands of star systems. You can do all kinds of things like mine, PvP, take over star systems, that kind of thing. It's an interesting system because the primary means of character advancement is the real-time training of skills. So even if you don't play all the damn time, you just need to make sure you're training skills while you're logged off to get 75% of the same advancement as everyone else. You just won't have money. But your character will get better. This means that the game isn't totally dominated by 12 year-old 133t gamzorz, which is nice.

Have I mentioned that I need a girlfriend?

At Charlie's suggestion, I watched the first season of "Dead Like Me" on DVD. It's about a girl who get's killed by the toilet seat of a deorbiting Russian space station and becomes a grim reaper. It's awesome. I also started watching the first season of HBO's series "Rome." Also awesome. very historically accurate. Lots of sex and violence. Great show.

That's about it. I'm going to go pretend to work now.

... from the land of exile. When my monitor popped, I spent five days without a computer in my room. It was terrible. But I have returned to the light. Thank the gods.

Well, it's supposed to be 90 degrees out tomorrow. Which is lame. And lamest of all? I don't have anyone to do anything outdoors with, which is really the only reason for 90 degree days to exist.

I don't really have anything to report. But it's been forever since I posted. I guess it is pretty exciting that I got together with an old friend of mine from high school. Sabrina was a senior when I was a sophomore. Which means we've known each other for about eight years or so. We lost touch around my Freshman year in college, but I stalked her on the internet. Now she sends me cookies!

Anyway, I'm bored out of my fucking mind here at work and am wasting time until lunch. So I figured I'd post.

So, um, I just saw myself in the mirror as I was getting ready for bed. Generally speaking, I don't really burn much, maybe a little bit behind the ears. Um, yeah. I'm fucking cooked like a lobster. My arms are red, my nose looks like Rudolph, my cheeks look like I've been drinking and the back of my neck got hit too. I'm gonna hurt tomorrow. Damn you Street Fair, and you too Day Star.

87 Degrees? What the fuck's up with that?

I found my fangs the other day. You probably didn't remember that they were gone. But they were. And now they're not. Not that they're really doing me a lot of good. But that's another story.

Also I'm bored. And I wish I found going to the gym to be anything but excrusiatingly boring, because then I'd go more often because I'd be less bored. But it's actually less boring to sit around doing nothing than go to the gym.

Very bored.

So, watching Myth Busters on the Discovery Channel is the next best thing to porn for me because of Kari Byron. And in the episode I just saw, she got dressed up in this "doctor" outfit. With these glasses. And her hair.... Fuck. I need to write her some sort of crazy, obsessed letter. Or stalk her. Or something.
